Commonly known as ‘hurali kalu’ in kannada, horse gram is commonly used hin Kannada households to make sprouts, rasam, sambar and chutney. Consuming Horse gram powder does wonders in treating various health issues such as asthma, bronchitis, urinary problems, jaundice, peptic ulcer, haemorrhoids and even menstrual problems. It is also beneficial for extracting phlegm, and controlling fever. As a weight watcher, horse gram is a good alternative to regular pulses.
