This is the third time I've ordered Sleepy Owl Cold Brew coffee packs and I love it! It's very affordable compared to the cold brew you get at cafes. At Rs 500, and 500 ml worth coffee with each packet, you get about 2.5 lts of cold brew for just Rs 500 and that's a life saver. One set of 5 packs easily lasts me a month. The coffee itself is smooth and gives you a nice alert feeling without being too acidic or bitter. Final plus point - the packaging is adorable!

If you are new to 'brewed coffee', this is an absolute must try! Took me a couple tries to get the correct coffee to milk ratio as per my liking but even without the milk, it tasted amazing! I didn't quite understand how a coffee can be "smooth" until I had a cup of this!

Formula for Hot version that retains smoothness and low acidity 1) Take 50-70 ml decoction in a cup. It should be cold from refrigerator. 2) Heat 50ml milk and 50 ml water . Creamy milk works better. Heat to boiling point (as you will be adding to cold decoction. 1 min 45 second in microwave on high does it for me. 3) Mix sugar in cold decoction, this seems to retain the smoothness. 4) Pour the hot milk -water to decoction The coffee is smooth like the cold version. Temperature seems to be the key - this method makes not so hot coffee - heating it little more for 30 second in microwave helps. However it looses the smoothness on more heating. I had given up coffee due to acidity for a long time. Now I can take pleasure of a cup - Thanks Sleepy Owl !

Sleepy Owl’s Cold brew is amazing. I absolutely love the original cold brew as compared to the cinnamon one. The only issue is with the quantity it makes and the lack of instructions on the packaging, like should I store the soaked pack in the fridge or outside & what the shelf life of the soaked pack is. (A small tip, mix sugar & lemon juice in your sleepy owl original cold brew in a cup. Then pour a lot of ice into your glass, add the coffee, sugar & lime mix, then add cold water, give it a good stir & add a piece of lemon or vanilla essence for a great glass of cold brew)

Says to brew a packet in 500ml but you can get away even with 800-1000ml of water. Leaving it overnight in a jug is enough. Aroma and the taste of the coffee is good. Tried only cold coffee till now so can't comment on how it will taste as hot coffee

I came to know about Sleepy Owl while I was going through my Instagram feed and an ad popped up, since I am a coffeeholic I went and checked out the profile, I was so excited when I saw the Cold Brew Packs because this is the first brand I saw offering unbrewed Cold Brew Packs across India. About the taste - The coffee used in brew packs is Arabica, which has a very light sweet and smooth taste with hint of fruity notes. The aroma of coffee after its brewed is so smooth that it will tempt you to have it more than a couple of times a day and since it's a cold brew so don't worry about the acidity because there is no heat involved in the preparation. I really appreciate Sleepy Owl for offering cold brew packs at such an affordable price across the India. I would recommend coffee lovers to give it a try once.

Over the last 2 months, I tried testing the COLD BREWs available in the market. Here is my summary 1. Sleepy Owl - Since I'm a regular customer, I used this as a standard for comparison. 2. Blue Tokai - I found this to have a better packaging compared to Sleepy Owl but the coffee itself was nothing special, nor consistent flavour. 3. 3rd Wave - Not good packaging, coffee was spilled in the pack and even while brewing lot of coffee powder at the bottom of the jar. Even coffee quality I found to be lower. Overall assessment : I found Sleepy Owl the winner overall, and most importantly due to the coffee consistency & the flavours. Also they have a brand value, they replaced my entire pack of 5 cause I found one of the pack to be slightly opened, it have never happened before though. Keep up the good work!
